Kids Missions Camp -  July 6-10, 2008

Kids: Imagine a camp that’s all about missions! There are tons of activities like water sports, night games, hikes, caves and interactive games. But the main thing is meeting real live missionaries and people from other countries. You get to “visit” other countries, hear about their cultures, and maybe eat their food. You learn how God is reaching people all over the world. How would you like to board an “airplane” and “fly” to four countries around the world? Or how about going to camp thinking you were going to learn about refugees only to find out you BECAME one? Or having a missionary pilot fly his plane in and tell you about missionary aviation, getting into the mind of a Hindu, Buddhist or Muslim, having a missionary skydiver tell you about facing risk, enjoying a Chinese banquet, meeting a big, tall (7 ft?) Sudanese pastor, drinking tea with a story telling missionary from North Africa, and more. We’ve done it all, and the kids who have come, keep coming back. This is one COOL camp! The only thing missing is YOU!

Parents: Kids Missions Camp is located at Camp Jonah, 31 Little Mountain Rd, Trout Lake, WA 98650 at the base of Mt. Adams. Camp Jonah works in partnership with World Venture which is part of the Conservative Baptist Association. Although Camp Jonah has camps for a wide age range, Eastridge will be focusing on 4th through 6th graders for the July 6-10, 2008 mission camp. Any member or visitor of Eastridge is welcome to participate.  The cost of the camp is $210 per participant.

Scholarships paying for half the cost of the camp will be awarded to kids meeting criteria established through the Eastridge Awana program. For details about the camp and scholarship program, contact Tom Bingham.

Sunday School

...classes meet during Bible Hour at 11:15 am - 12:15 pm.

It is wonderful to see Sunday School attendance slowly increasing from week to week!  The kids love to participate in the discussions we have and it's gratifying to see them growing in their knowledge of God.

Nursery ...is available for children from birth to age 3 during all of the morning programs.

Ages 4- 2nd Grade  ...get your hands on the Bible.  Playfully taught by Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. Groot in Portable 1, on the right side.

Rally Time ...is the opening segment of the Sunday School hour.  It is totally outrageous!

3rd- 6th Grade  We are no longer following the "Break Out" curriculum in the 3rd- 6th grade classes.  Instead, we are using a curriculum that focuses on key truths found in basic Bible stories.  Right now we are studying the life of King Solomon.  Because of our emphasis on basic Bible knowledge, we are asking kids to look up Bible passages during Sunday School.  If your child has a Bible, please encourage him/her to bring it on Sunday morning.  The 3rd/4th graders are taught by Mr. & Mrs. Splinter, and the 5th/6th graders are taught by Mr. & Mrs. Teeler.

One final note:  we still need substitute teachers to help out in case a teacher is absent for any reason.  If you would like to be added to the Sunday School "Sub" list, please contact Jennifer Teeler.  Thank you!

Joyful Noise Kids Choir

Joyful Noise, Eastridge's children's choir, continues to practice at 8:30 am in portable #2 every Sunday morning.  All kids in grades 2nd - 8th are welcome.  If anyone is considering joining, this is a perfect time since we will be starting all new songs.  We are blessed to have the wonderful Pam Emme directing Joyful Noise.  So kids, rise and shine and get singing!  Make a joyful noise unto the Lord in the Joyful Noise Kid's Choir!
