Tepic, Mexico Mission Trip

The College/Career Group from Eastridge Baptist Church went on a mission trip to Tepic, Mexico
A group of 11 young adults and ministry leaders made this trip July 4 - 11, 2008.  They partnered with a career missionary, Debbie Mellberg.  Debbie lost her husband Kirt three years ago but has continued to carry on the ministry work that they were involved in.  Debbie partners with a local church in Tepic (a three hour drive north of Puerto Vallarta).  They ministered with a local church during their stay through a basketball camp in the mornings. In the afternoons, they traveled to La Bendicion, a village in the foothills, where our team lead vacation Bible school activities and assisted in building a latrine (better known as an “outhouse”) for the village.  All of these activities were designed to maximize opportunities to build relationships with the Mexican people and share God’s love and the good news of Jesus Christ.

Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo Exploratory Trip

Steve Bell and his daughter Loreen Bell took a trip from September 20 - 29, 2007 to explore the prospects of the Agape Woodshop and to give his advice to Bruce & Anita Paden and World Venture as to the best use of the facility.  They explored other ministry opportunities while they were there. Here is a link to the Goma Trip Summary which was written by Steve Bell.

El Salvador Mission Trip

From November 5th - 12th, 2006 we had a group of men go to El Salvador on a short-term missions trip to help build a new village called La Esperanza with the non-profit ministry Agros International. Steve Bell has coordinated the trips down to El Salvador once or twice a year for the past few years.  They have built roads, irrigation, homes, a community center, and more.

A trip was made to El Salvador the first week of October, 2007 where the men helped to plant pineapples, shored up a road that kept washing away in the rain, fixed a roof, and did other work in the village of La Esperanza.  Randy Mayes, Dan Irish and Dan’s son T.J. Irish, Rob Rapier and 8 men from Pacific Crest Industries made the trip in October.   El Salvador Photos 2007

Uganda/Congo Mission Trip

We had an Eastridge team go on a short-term missions trip to Uganda and Congo in July, 2006.  They went there to help our missionaries with World Venture, Skip & Ruth Sorensen in Uganda, and Bruce &  Anita Paden in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
