embership Has Its Privileges!
Why join a church?
-
Community : The New Testament emphasizes
the importance of believers joining together for mutual fellowship and
encouragement. (Hebrews 10:19-25)
-
Service: As a member of a local
church, you will have more opportunities to use your spiritual gifts in
serving the Body of Christ (I Peter 4:12). Most
churches require membership for certain areas of service (i.e., teaching,
holding office, etc.).
-
Involvement: As a member, you will be
able to vote and express your views on important matters regarding the
policies and direction of your local church. Membership is also
required for involvement in most areas of leadership within the
church.
-
Commitment: Through membership, you are
expressing your commitment to a local church. Membership is like a
marriage. It is a public promise and a commitment to another party
- in this case, a local body of believers.
Why Eastridge?
-
Our Passion: The Great
Commandment: Loving God and Loving People.
-
Our Vision: The Great Commission:
Winning, building, and equipping disciples.
-
Our Focus: God's Word: The Bible
is central in all our worship and ministries.
Our Requirements...
-
Salvation: You must have a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. This is
the most important decision any individual will make in their life, for
it determines one's eternal destiny.
-
Baptism: We believe that baptism is
a public testimony of an individual's commitment to Jesus Christ.
While it does not impart salvation, baptism is clearly a step of
obedience to Christ.
-
Convictions: We also believe in common
convictions regarding the Christian faith and life to be important in
maintaining church unity. Therefore, Eastridge also requires that
its members agree with our "Statement of
Faith" and our
"Membership Covenant" (See below).
The Process...
-
Eastridge 101: First, attend our
Eastridge 101 Seminar. This is required for all members so they
can become familiar with the vision, beliefs, and ministry of
Eastridge.
-
Application: Following the Eastridge 101 Seminar, simply fill
out the "Membership Application" (available at the church), and return
it to the Pastor or church office.
-
Interview: One of our Elders will contact you and arrange
for an informal meeting.
-
Confirmation: Finally, following the interview, the
interviewing Elders will present your name(s) to the Board of Elders for confirmation.

Having received Jesus Christ as my Lord and
Savior, having been baptized, and being in agreement with the Eastridge
"Statement of Faith" and the Eastridge "Vision Statement", I feel led by

church...

By praying for it's health and growth.
-
By inviting my friends to attend, particularly the
unchurched.
-
By warmly welcoming those who visit.
-
I will serve in the ministry of my church...
-
By discovering my gifts and talents.
-
By being equipped to serve God and others.
-
By developing a servant's heart.
-
I will support the testimony of my church...
-
By attending faithfully.
-
By living a godly life.
-
By giving regularly.
